Skir, in Swedish, means semi-transparent—like a piece of fabric you can see through—much like the properties of this chair.
Designed for outdoor use, cafés, and public spaces, the chair is stackable and built with a steel construction that can easily be chained if left outside overnight. Made up of straight wire lines and an angular backrest, its perforated seat and back form shell-like structures, giving the chair a light and airy feel. It has a sculptural quality that I appreciate—a contrast between sturdiness and lightness.
The chair was first exhibited in 2022 at Southern Sweden Design Days (SSDD), the annual design festival held in Southern Sweden every May.
