Skrattmås

Skrattmås is an obstacle course kit designed to spark creativity and active play. With a carefully selected set of obstacles, kids can build and adapt their own courses, fostering movement, problem-solving, and imaginative thinking.

Developed in collaboration with Operation Pepp—a Swedish foundation dedicated to promoting physical activity among children—Skrattmås balances accessibility with engaging design. The challenge was twofold: maintaining an affordable price point, in line with IKEA’s commitment to accessibility, while ensuring a wide variety of obstacle choices to support dynamic and personalized course creation.

The result is a playful, flexible system that encourages kids to explore, create, and stay active. This project really suit me, I am all for activation and play, and like to think about ways to live a healthier and have a more active life.
