Bill

The candle holder, named Bill after my son, was designed when he was just a few months old. Bill features threaded parts that allow for easy disassembly when cleaning. It consists of a top piece with a hole running straight through, and a bottom piece with a closed base. There is also a third component that can be placed between the top and bottom, but only if a taller candle holder is desired.

The shape of the candle holder is purely functional, designed for easy assembly. The edge is knurled for better grip, which also creates a shimmering design feature.

Designed for the exhibition Familjär at SSDD 2024, Bill is an interpretation of my father's candle holder design, Stub. The concept allows the candle to burn down completely without the hassle of excessive cleaning.
